Set up email automations

How to define rules such as tagging buyers or starting a sequence, and why they do not run until sending opens.

SoonThis part of Omne isn't open yet. This page says what's planned, and it can still change.

An automation is a rule of the form "when this happens, do that". You can define automations in Omne now. They stay drafts, because the Turn on button shows Coming soon.

Create an automation

  1. Open Email, then Automations.
  2. Click New automation.
  3. Give it a Name, such as "Tag buyers".
  4. Under When, pick the trigger: Someone joins the list, A tag is added, Someone buys or A form is sent. For A tag is added, enter the tag in the Tag field.
  5. Under Then, pick the action: Add a tag, Remove a tag, Start a sequence, Send an email or Tell me.
  6. In Which, enter the tag, sequence or email the action uses. The hint says: the tag, the sequence or the email.
  7. Click Save draft.

Examples

Tag everyone who buys with customer. Start a welcome sequence when the tag workshop is added. Tell yourself when a form comes in.

The list

Rows show the automation, its When, its Then and its Status. Changes apply from the next time the trigger happens.

Plan

Automations are planned for Pro and above. See Build an email sequence if you want emails on a timetable instead of a rule.
