Link domain settings: bare domain, not found page, QR logo and more
Choose where your domain's bare address, unknown words and expired links go, add a logo to its QR codes, and set an example address.
Each link domain has settings that decide what happens when a visitor doesn't land on a normal link. Open Store, Links, Domains, then click a domain, or choose Edit domain from its menu. The window is called Update domain.
The settings
Each setting has a switch. Turn it on to fill it in. Turn it off to clear it.
- QR code logo. A picture in the middle of this domain's QR codes. Drop a logo or click to choose one. A square picture works best, and Omne turns it into a square PNG for you.
- Bare domain. Where the domain goes with nothing after it, such as yourname.com. Without one, it goes to Omne's home page.
- Default expiration page. Where an expired link goes, unless that link has its own page. See link expiration.
- Not found page. Where a word nobody made goes.
- Example address. What Create link shows as an example for this domain.
Addresses here start with https://. Click Save changes when you are done. It is only active once something has changed.
Advanced: open your own app
Click Show advanced settings for two file boxes:
- Apple App Site Association, the file that lets this domain's links open your iPhone app.
- Android asset links, the file that lets this domain's links open your Android app.
Paste each file exactly as it is. Each can be up to 32 KB and has to be valid JSON. The Apple file needs at least one of the sections applinks, webcredentials, appclips or activitycontinuation. The Android file has to be a list where every entry has a relation list and a target. Omne serves the files as they are to Apple's and Google's checkers. These are for your own app. They are separate from the open in app feature. See open in app.
Change the domain's name
Change next to Your domain lets you edit the name. Changing it moves all its links to the new name, and Omne asks you to confirm and tells you how many would move. Anything already shared or printed with the old name stops working, and the new name needs its own DNS record. Prefer adding a new domain over renaming one that is in use.
