Troubleshooting

A post says Didn't post

Why a scheduled post in Omne fails, what the platform's message means, and why Omne never retries it by itself.

Didn't post means Omne tried to publish at the scheduled time and the platform refused. The reason, in the platform's own words, appears next to the post.

Statuses

A post is Scheduled, Posting, Posted or Didn't post. Omne takes a due post once and records the result. A failed post is never tried again by itself, so it never goes out twice.

Which platforms post by schedule

Scheduled publishing works for Skool today. Medium stories are posted by Omne's browser extension from your own signed-in browser. TikTok videos are posted from the TikTok screen. Posts for other platforms stay Scheduled until their publishing is added, and do not fail.

Skool messages

  • "This Skool account needs connecting again." Reconnect it. See A connected account says it needs reconnecting.
  • "Skool signed this account out. Connect it again from Omne's extension."
  • "Skool didn't answer." Skool was unreachable. Try again.
  • "Choose the Skool group to post in." Pick a group.
  • "A Skool post needs a title." Add one.
  • "Skool didn't take the file." or "Skool's storage didn't take the file." The upload failed. Check the file and try again.
  • "Skool didn't make the post." Skool accepted the request but did not create it.

TikTok messages

TikTok shows "TikTok couldn't post it: reason." where the reason is TikTok's own, with underscores replaced by spaces.

What to do

Read the message, fix what it names, and schedule the post again.

If the account is the problem

If the account shows Needs reconnecting, reconnect it first, or the next post fails the same way.
