How to set a price, a compare-at price and payment plans
Set a product's price and currency, show a struck-through compare-at price, make it free, and add monthly plans or installments as other ways to pay.
A product has one main price, and you can add more ways to pay under it. Open the product from Store, Products, All products, then work in the panel.
The main price
- Price. Type an amount such as 49 or 49.99. If you type something else, Omne says "The price is an amount like 49 or 49.99."
- Currency. New products start in your store's currency. See store settings to change that default.
- Free. Enter 0 and the product shows as Free in lists and on your storefront preview.
- Billed. For a membership, choose Every month, Every year or Every week. The list then shows the price as, for example, "$19 / month".
Show a compare-at price
Compare-at price is the older, higher price. It shows struck through beside the real one, so a buyer sees what they save. It has to be an amount such as 99 or 99.99. Leave it empty to show no comparison.
Add other ways to pay
Under the fields, Other ways to pay lets buyers choose one at checkout. To add one:
- Open an existing product, because this section appears once the product is saved.
- Choose a Kind: Plan, Payment plan or One-time.
- Enter the Amount. For a payment plan the field is called Each payment.
- For a plan or payment plan, choose how often it is Billed: every month, year or week.
- For a payment plan, set Payments, the number of installments.
- Optionally give it a Label such as "Pay monthly".
- Click Add price.
A plan repeats on the schedule you choose. A payment plan is a fixed number of payments, shown as, for example, "3 × $20 / month". To remove one, click the bin beside it.
Past orders
Changing a price changes what new buyers pay. Orders already placed keep the price they were sold at.
When buyers can use these
Buyers can't pay yet, because checkout hasn't opened. Your prices are saved in your workspace so they are ready. See what you can set up in your store today.
