How to connect Stripe to your store

Connect your own Stripe account so sales are charged on it and paid to your bank. Omne never holds your money.

You connect your own Stripe account to your store. Each sale will be charged directly on your account, and Stripe pays out to your bank. Omne doesn't hold your money, so your customers, refunds and disputes stay with you.

Connect your account

  1. Open Store, then Storefront.
  2. Under Getting paid, find the Payments row. It shows Not connected.
  3. Click Connect Stripe. You can also click Connect on the third step of the checklist on your store Home.
  4. A window opens on Stripe. Sign in, or create a Stripe account there, and approve the connection.
  5. When the window closes, the row shows Connected, and the checklist step is ticked.

Omne connects as a Standard account, which means your Stripe dashboard, payouts and customer list remain yours. Omne only keeps the account's reference to work on it.

Manage or change the connection

When the row shows Connected, the button reads Manage. It opens the account's panel, where you can manage the connection. If a workspace has more than one connected Stripe account, the newest one is the account the store takes payments into. If you disconnect it, the store moves to the next newest account, or to none if there isn't one.

Each workspace has its own store and its own payment account, so a client's store is paid on its own.

What happens when checkout opens

Connecting now prepares your store, but nothing is charged yet, because checkout hasn't opened. See what you can set up in your store today. The fee Omne takes on a sale is in fees and plans.

If the connection doesn't work

  • If the window is blocked, allow pop-ups for app.omne.so and click Connect Stripe again.
  • If Stripe shows a message, it appears in the panel. Read it, fix what it names in Stripe, then try again.
  • If you still can't connect, contact support and say what the message said.

PayPal

PayPal is listed under Integrations as a way to let buyers pay with their balance, and it is marked as coming soon.
