Troubleshooting

The sign-in code was rejected

Why Omne can refuse a 6-digit code, the limits on wrong attempts, and what to do when you are locked out.

Omne clears the six boxes and shows a message when a code is refused. A code can be wrong, expired, already used, or blocked by a limit.

Typing it

Enter the digits in the six boxes. They advance as you type, the sixth signs you in, and you can paste a whole code into the first box. Spaces and other characters are ignored.

Expired or used

A code works once and for 10 minutes. The button in the email uses the same code. If you click the button after typing the code, the second try is refused. Ask for a new one with Resend code and use only the newest email.

Wrong tries

A code is dropped after 3 wrong tries. Beyond that, Omne allows 5 wrong codes an hour and 20 a day for an address. Past the limit every code for the address is refused until the window ends, even a correct one, and the response tells you to try again later. Wait an hour for the shorter limit.

"Too many tries"

If a message says too many tries, or "Too many codes for this address. Try again later.", you hit one of the limits above or Omne's limit on requests from one connection in a short time. Wait a few minutes and try once.

From an email button

The button in the email takes you straight in. If it opens the sign-in page with "This link has run out or was already used.", see This link has run out.

"This account is disabled"

The message "This account is disabled. Write to omne's support to have it opened again." means the account was switched off. Contact support.

Still stuck

Close the tab, open app.omne.so, start again with a fresh code. If it keeps failing, contact support.
