Add and manage subscribers
How to add people to your email list by hand, tag them, change their status and find them again in Omne.
The Subscribers page lists everyone on your email list. You find it in your workspace's sidebar under Audience. Each row shows the person's name and address, their tags, their status, where they came from and when they joined.
Add a subscriber
- Open Audience, then Subscribers.
- Click Add subscriber.
- Enter the person's email address. The name and tags are optional.
- Leave Status on Subscribed and click Add subscriber.
Only add people who asked to hear from you. If the address is already on your list, Omne tells you "That address is already on the list." and does not add it twice.
What the columns mean
Status is one of four values: Subscribed, Unsubscribed, Bounced or Complained. Only subscribed people are meant to receive your emails. Source says how the person arrived: Added by hand, Signup form, Checkout or Import.
Tags
Tags are short labels you put on a person, such as workshop or customer. They decide which emails reach them: a broadcast can go to everyone or only to people with certain tags, and a signup form can give every new subscriber the same tags. Type a tag and press enter to add it. Remove one the same way you added it.
Find someone
Use the search box above the list to search by name or email. The filter next to it switches between All, Subscribed and Unsubscribed.
Change or remove a subscriber
Click a row to open the person. Change their name, tags or status and click Save. To take someone off your list for good, click Delete and confirm. If you only want them to stop receiving email, set the status to Unsubscribed instead, so Omne remembers they opted out.
Importing a list
The Import button on this page shows Coming soon. Until it opens, you add people one at a time.
Customers are separate People who bought from your store are on the Customers page. A customer is not automatically a subscriber, and the two lists are kept apart for now.
