The Digital Brain
See your workspace's posts and saved articles drawn as one map grouped by platform, search it, filter it and open any piece from it.
The Digital Brain draws what your workspace has published as one map. Each post and each article is a dot, and the dots are grouped in rings by where they were published. It shows only your own material, so it is a quick way to see how much you have said, where, and what you could build on. Open it from Digital Brain under Research in the sidebar.
What goes on the map
| What | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Posts | The posts in your workspace that have words. A photo with no words holds no knowledge, so it is left out. Facebook posts older than a year are left out too |
| Blog articles | The articles saved in your Library |
Posts are grouped by platform, with one ring for each platform you have posts on, and articles sit on a ring called Blog. The ring with the most posts comes first. A post that has been answered more, with more likes, comments and views, is drawn larger than one that got little response, so your strongest material is easy to spot.
The map only reads what is already in your workspace. It does not read your accounts again, so a new post shows up once it is in the workspace.
Read the map
The line above the map says how many pieces it shows, for example 12 pieces. When a search or filter is on, it reads like 4 of 12 pieces, and Nothing matches appears if the result is empty.
- Click a dot to open that piece. A post opens in the same popup Discover uses. An article opens in a side drawer with a link to read it.
- Full screen is the button in the map's corner. Press Esc to leave it when nothing is open.
- A shared link to a piece opens that piece once the map is drawn.
Search and filter
The search box reads Search followed by your workspace's name and "brain". Every word you type has to appear in a piece's title or description. The filter button opens two groups:
| Group | What it does |
|---|---|
| What | Shows Posts, Blog articles, or both. A count sits beside each |
| Platform | Shows only the posts of the platforms you tick |
When a filter hides a dot, the lines and rings that only belonged to it go too.
Open an article
An article opens in a drawer with its title and description. The button to read it opens the article's own page. The drawer's menu has Copy graph link, Copy page link and Open in a new tab, and you can step through the articles with the arrow keys.
Look for the thin rings A platform with a thin ring of posts is a platform where you have said little. Compare it with a platform where your posts were answered, and decide where to write next.
