How to add UTM parameters to a link
Add source, medium, campaign, term and content to a short link, so your analytics can show which post or email each click came from.
UTM parameters are labels added to the address a link sends people to. They tell the site you link to, and Omne's own analytics, which campaign a click came from. You add them in the link window.
Add them
- In Create link or when editing a link, enter Where it goes first.
- Click UTM at the bottom. The UTM builder opens.
- Fill in any of Source, Medium, Campaign, Term and Content. For example: instagram, social, spring-launch, running shoes, bio-link.
- Check Where people end up, which shows the full address with your parameters added.
- Click Save, then save the link.
A dot appears on the UTM button when a link has parameters. Leave a field empty to leave that parameter out.
Read the results
In Analytics, the UTM parameters card has lists for Source, Medium, Campaign, Term and Content. You can filter by any of them. See link analytics.
Good habits
Use the same spelling every time, in lowercase, so the same source shows as one line in your lists. Use one campaign name per push, and a different content value for each place the link appears.
Limits
Omne doesn't have saved UTM templates yet, so you fill the builder in for each link. Duplicating a link keeps its parameters, which saves retyping.
