How to create a coupon code

Make a discount code buyers type at checkout, with a percentage or amount off, chosen products, a use limit and an expiry date.

A coupon is a code a buyer types at checkout to take money off. You set how much comes off, which products accept it, how many times it can be used and when it stops. Open Store, then Products, then Coupons, and click New coupon.

Make a coupon

  1. Enter the Code, such as LAUNCH20. A code is 2 to 40 letters, digits, dashes or underscores. It has to be unique in your workspace.
  2. Add a Name for yourself, such as "Launch week".
  3. Under Takes off, choose A percentage or An amount. Then fill in Percentage off (between 0.01 and 100) or Amount off, such as 10 or 9.99.
  4. Under Products, leave Every product switched on, or switch it off and choose Only these products.
  5. Optionally set a Use limit, a whole number. Leave it empty for no limit.
  6. Optionally set Expires. Leave it empty for a coupon that never expires.
  7. Keep Active switched on so buyers can use it now, then click Add coupon.

Read the list

The list shows each coupon's Code, Discount, what it Applies to, how many times it is Used (for example "3 of 50"), when it Expires and its Status. A coupon is Active, Paused (you switched Active off) or Expired (its date has passed).

Use the search box, Search codes, to find one.

Change or stop a coupon

Click a coupon to edit it. Changing the discount changes it for every buyer who uses the code from now on. To stop a code without deleting it, switch Active off. To remove it, click Delete and confirm.

Plans

The pricing page lists coupons and promotions on Creator, Pro, Max and Team, and not on Free. Plans can change before the beta opens, so check the pricing page.

When buyers can use it

Buyers can't use a code yet, because checkout hasn't opened. Your coupons are saved and ready. If you want a discount that needs no code, see promotions.
