How to record a sale made outside the store
Add a sale you took by bank transfer or in cash, so its buyer and its money are counted in your store numbers.
If someone paid you outside the store, such as by bank transfer or cash at a workshop, record the sale so the buyer and the money are counted in your store numbers. You do this from your store Home, and only owners and admins of the workspace can do it.
Record it
- Open Store, then Home.
- Under Recent sales, click Record a sale. A panel opens.
- Enter the Buyer's email, such as name@example.com. Add the Name if you have it.
- Choose the Product. The panel shows its price, for example "$49 each".
- Set the Quantity. It starts at 1.
- If you gave a discount, enter it in Discount. It is taken off the total.
- Click Record sale.
The amount comes from the product's own price, so the product has to exist first. If you have none, the panel says "Add a product first: a sale is of something you sell." See create a product.
What it changes
The sale is saved as an order and appears under Recent sales. The buyer's row in Customers and their totals update with it, and your store numbers include it.
What it doesn't do
Recording a sale doesn't charge anyone. It only writes down money you already received, so keep your own records of how it was paid. Card payments will arrive on their own once checkout opens and Stripe is connected.
