My workspace invitation link does not work
What to check when a workspace invite link from Omne only opens the front page, does not open the workspace, or has expired.
An invitation link looks like app.omne.so/api/invite/ followed by a long id. It works only for the person whose address was invited, and only while they are signed in.
What it does
When you open it signed in with the invited address, Omne accepts the invitation and opens the workspace. If you are signed out, or signed in as another address, or the invitation is no longer valid, the link sends you to the front page instead.
Checklist
- Sign in first with the exact address that was invited. If you are not invited yet, see Omne says it is invite-only.
- Open the link again after signing in. Opening it while signed out does not remember it.
- Check the address. An invitation to
you@work.comdoes not work fromyou@home.com. - Ask the sender to look at Pending invites. In Settings, Members, each pending invitation shows the date it lasts "until". A cancelled or expired one is gone.
- Ask for a new invitation. The sender cancels the old one with the cross, invites you again and sends you the new link.
Omne does not email invitations yet
The sender copies the link and sends it. If it never arrived, ask them to send it again. See Invite people to a workspace.
Already a member?
If you open the link and land in your usual workspace, check the workspace menu. You may already be a member and the workspace is in the list under Workspaces.
