How to connect Google services

Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, YouTube, Analytics, Search Console and more each connect with their own Google sign-in. Here is what to expect on Google's warning screen.

Each Google service in Integrations has its own card and signs in through Google's own page, asking only for the permissions that service needs. You choose the Google account, read what Omne is asking for, and approve.

The Google services

Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Forms, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Google Tasks, Google Meet, Google Admin, Google Analytics, Search Console, Tag Manager, Google Ads, Google Business Profile, Google Photos, YouTube and Gemini. Filter by Google under Work with to see them together.

Connect one

  1. Open Settings, then Integrations, and open the service's card.
  2. Choose Connect followed by the name.
  3. In the window that opens, choose the Google account. Omne always asks you to choose, so it never silently picks a signed-in account.
  4. Approve the permissions. The window closes and the account appears in the panel, named by its Google profile. YouTube is named by its channel.

Each connection asks only for its own service's permissions. Connecting Drive does not give Omne your email, and connecting Gmail does not give it your files.

Google's warning screen

Until Google has finished reviewing Omne, Google shows a notice that the app is not verified. The panel shows the steps: choose Advanced, then Go to Omne. You can disconnect at any time. Until the review is done Google also caps how many people can connect an unverified app, so a connection can be refused for that reason.

Tested with real accounts

Gmail, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Business Profile, Google Drive, Google Photos, Search Console, Tag Manager and YouTube have each been connected with a real account. The other Google cards reach Google's sign-in page but have not been completed, as listed in What works today.

Two with limits from Google

  • Google Business Profile connects, but reads nothing until Google approves access through its own access form.
  • Google Ads connects and keeps your ad accounts, but depends on Google granting Omne a developer token, which has not happened yet.

Several Google apps from one account

Some Google apps share a connection while Omne waits for its own Google client for each, and they switch over by themselves later. If a card asks you to sign in again, do it. The new connection replaces the old.

Take access away

In Omne, open the card and use Disconnect. Omne revokes the token at Google unless another connection of yours still uses the same Google client for that account. You can also review and remove Omne in your Google Account's connections page. The panel links to it under Manage Omne's access in Google.
