People and workspaces

What a workspace is, and how to switch or add one

A workspace is one business in Omne: its content, accounts, people, files and plan. How to switch between them and create a new one.

A workspace is one business: its content, connected accounts, people, files and plan. One account can belong to many workspaces. Everything in Omne happens inside one of them, and its address is app.omne.so/w/ followed by the workspace's handle.

Switch workspace

  1. Click the workspace name at the foot of the sidebar. With the sidebar collapsed, click the workspace picture.
  2. Under Workspaces, click the one you want. The current one has a tick.

Omne remembers the last workspace you used and opens it next time.

Create a workspace

  1. Open the same menu and click New workspace.
  2. Enter a Workspace name.
  3. Click Create.

Omne builds the handle from the name, using lowercase letters, digits and dashes, and adds a number if the handle is taken. You become the owner and land in the new workspace. If something goes wrong, the message "Couldn't make the workspace. Please try again." appears under the field. You can change the handle later. See Rename a workspace and change its handle.

What is separate

Each workspace has its own library, connected accounts, members, Store, email list and plan. If you run more than one brand, give each its own workspace. Nothing carries over between them.

Plans

Every workspace is on the Free plan during the private beta. Each workspace has its own plan once billing opens, or you can keep several on one bill with Team. See Teams and client workspaces.

Where you are signed in

Your sign-in belongs to you, and not to a workspace. Signing out of Omne signs you out of all of them on that device.
