How to connect a service through its MCP server
Cards tagged MCP/CLI sign in through the service's own MCP server. Approve Omne once, and the account's tools become available in Ask AI.
Many services run an MCP server, a standard way for AI tools to sign in and use a service. In Integrations, cards tagged MCP/CLI connect this way. You sign in on the service's own page, and Omne can then use the tools the service offers for your account.
Connect
- Open Settings, then Integrations. To list them, open the filter and under Connects through choose MCP/CLI.
- Open the service's card and choose Connect followed by its name.
- A window opens on the service's own sign-in. Sign in and approve Omne.
- The window closes and the account appears. The panel says the connection runs "Through" the service's "own MCP server".
Behind the scenes, Omne finds the service's sign-in details, registers itself as an app with the service, and asks for your approval using a one-time proof, so you register nothing. Omne names the connection from the service's profile, and renews and revokes it with the secret the service gave for that connection alone.
Why they matter for Ask AI
An account connected this way brings the tools its server lists. Ask AI can call them, signed in as you. Switch each account on or off under Connectors. See Use your connected accounts in a chat. GitHub gives tools too, through GitHub's own server with the same sign-in you already gave Omne.
What has been proven
- Connected for real with an account: Granola and Wispr Flow.
- Reach the service's own sign-in: a long list, including Linear, Atlassian, Notion, Zapier, Make, Pipedream, Supabase, Neon, Railway, Cloudflare, Sentry, PostHog, Amplitude, Klaviyo, Attio, Apollo.io, HeyGen, Higgsfield, Magnific, Runway, OpenArt, Descript, Kit, Kajabi, Podia, Todoist, Miro and many others. Nobody has finished a sign-in on these yet.
- Not open: services whose MCP servers accept only apps they have approved, such as Figma, Riverside and vidIQ, and Asana and Box, which need Omne's own registered app. These wait. See Integrations waiting for approval.
Limits Omne sets
For some services Omne asks for only part of what the service offers. SuperProfile, for example, is limited to reading and to its auto-DM and Instagram schedule tools, with nothing that deletes. Wistia is limited to reading, uploading and stats. Mercury is read-only, because Omne never asks to move money. A tool that would sign Omne out or revoke the connection is never handed to the AI.
If a connection stops working
A sign-in can lapse or be revoked on the service's side. The card then shows Needs reconnecting. Open the account's menu and choose Reconnect. In a chat, a tool from that account fails with a note that it needs reconnecting in Integrations.
Your own MCP server
For a server Omne doesn't list, add it by its address from Settings → Integrations → Add → Add custom connector. See Add your own MCP server, API or app.
