LinkedIn Ads

Connect LinkedIn Ads to read every ad account you have a role on, see results by job title and company, pause and resume, change budgets, make drafts, work with lead forms, audiences and conversions, and search LinkedIn's Ad Library, from Omne AI, your agents and Omne's API.

LinkedIn Ads connects as its own account in Omne, apart from any LinkedIn account you post from. Connecting it never changes what your LinkedIn connection for posting can do. Once it's connected, Omne AI and your agents work in every LinkedIn ad account you have a role on.

LinkedIn grants each of its API products to Omne's app on its own, after its review. Today Omne's app has Sign In with LinkedIn, the Advertising API (at LinkedIn's Development tier) and the Ad Library API. The Lead Sync API, the Conversions API and the Matched Audiences API are still in LinkedIn's review: the tools that need them say so, and Omne asks for them at your next connect once LinkedIn approves them.

Connect LinkedIn Ads

  1. Open Integrations and find LinkedIn Ads.
  2. Press Connect. Omne's own screen shows what it asks for, then LinkedIn opens in a small window.
  3. Sign in to the LinkedIn account that has a role on your ad accounts, and press Allow on LinkedIn's screen.

The window closes and LinkedIn Ads shows as connected, with your name and picture from LinkedIn. Omne reads every ad account you have a role on, then their campaign groups, campaigns and ads.

Permissions

Omne asks LinkedIn only for what LinkedIn has granted its app, read from LinkedIn itself at each connect:

  • openid, profile and email: who signed in, with your name, picture and email.
  • r_ads: the ad accounts you have a role on, their campaign groups, campaigns, ads, lead forms, Insight Tag and conversion rules.
  • rw_ads: pausing and resuming, budgets and names, copies, and new campaign groups, campaigns, ads, lead forms and conversion rules, made as drafts. Each happens only when you say yes.
  • r_ads_reporting: your ads' results.
  • r_organization_admin: the Company Pages you administer, for the lead forms and ads they own.

Once LinkedIn approves them, also:

  • r_marketing_leadgen_automation (Lead Sync API): your leads.
  • rw_conversions (Conversions API): sending conversions and managing their rules.
  • rw_dmp_segments (Matched Audiences API): your people and company audiences.

What you can change also depends on your role on each ad account: a Viewer reads, and an Account Manager, Campaign Manager, Creative Manager or the billing admin can change campaigns. At LinkedIn's Development tier, changes work on up to five ad accounts.

What Omne can do with it

Ask Omne AI or your agents in plain words. Everything that reads runs at once:

  • Ad accounts: each one with your role, its currency, status, LinkedIn's serving status and the Company Page it advertises for.
  • The whole account: campaign groups, their campaigns and each campaign's ads, in one look.
  • Campaign groups, campaigns and ads: status, objective, format, cost type and bid, daily and total budgets, optimization, pacing, dates, audience expansion, the LinkedIn Audience Network and targeting. An ad shows whether it's serving and why not, and LinkedIn's review: pending, approved, or rejected with LinkedIn's reasons.
  • Results: impressions, clicks, landing page clicks, spend, website conversions and their value, lead form opens and leads, qualified leads, video views, engagement and members reached, for the ad account, campaign groups, campaigns or ads, in total or by day, month or year. Omne works out click-through rate, cost per click and per thousand, cost per lead and per conversion, lead form completion and return on ad spend.
  • Breakdowns: results by job title, job function, seniority, industry, company, company size, country, region, placement or device, each named. LinkedIn's member numbers are approximate and can lag 12 to 24 hours.
  • Targeting: titles, skills, industries, companies, schools, places, interests and every other LinkedIn facet; how many members a targeting reaches; LinkedIn's bid limits, suggested bid and the daily budgets it accepts; and a forecast of impressions, clicks, spend, reach and leads to come.
  • Lead forms and leads: each form's state and questions; with the Lead Sync API, each lead's answers, email, names, company and title, and the campaign and ad that brought them.
  • Matched Audiences: with the Matched Audiences API, your people and company audiences, with their size.
  • The Insight Tag and conversion rules: the tag, its code, first-party cookies and each domain with when it last called LinkedIn; each rule's attribution, windows, value, the campaigns that count it and what it brought by day.
  • LinkedIn's Ad Library: any advertiser's LinkedIn ads since June 2023, by words, advertiser, payer, country, dates, impressions and the kinds of targeting used. The ads show in Discover → Ads too, beside Meta's.
  • Health: in one look, a product the connection lacks, a role that only reads, LinkedIn's holds on the account, an Insight Tag that's silent, conversion rules no campaign counts, and ads LinkedIn rejected, with its reasons.

LinkedIn tools may not be used to discriminate based on personal characteristics like gender, age, race, or ethnicity.

Changes wait for your yes. The ones that can spend money or can't be taken back wait even in Auto:

  • Pause, resume or archive a campaign group, campaign or ad.
  • Change a campaign's daily or total budget, or a campaign group's.
  • Rename, or copy a campaign with its settings and ads.
  • Make a campaign group, a campaign, or an ad from a Company Page post or a new post only for the ad. Everything Omne makes is a draft and spends nothing until it's turned on; LinkedIn reviews an ad when it's first turned on.
  • Make or archive a lead form.
  • With the Matched Audiences API, make an audience and add or remove people (emails hashed by Omne) or companies, one by one.
  • Make or change a conversion rule and the campaigns that count it.
  • With the Conversions API, send conversions. Omne hashes emails, IP addresses and names with SHA-256 before they leave, and checks every event against LinkedIn's rules first. Each event carries an event ID, the same one your Insight Tag sent, so LinkedIn counts it once. LinkedIn has no test mode, so Omne's test builds and checks the events exactly as a send would, and sends nothing.

Leads on your list

With LinkedIn's Lead Sync API, every lead from your lead gen forms joins your list in Store → Subscribers within the hour, tagged LinkedIn lead. Someone who said no to the form's marketing consent is kept as unsubscribed. LinkedIn keeps leads for 90 days, so Omne keeps them as they come.

Webhooks

LinkedIn sends no webhooks for campaigns or ads, so Omne reads your ad accounts, campaign groups, campaigns and ads when you connect and every hour after. Your own webhooks, set up in Settings → MCP & API → Webhooks, hear:

  • account.connected and account.disconnected, and account.needs_reconnect when LinkedIn stops accepting Omne's access.
  • account.ads.initial_sync_completed once the first read after connecting is done, with the ad accounts read and how many ads.
  • ad.status_changed when a campaign group, campaign or ad changed status between two reads, with the status before. An ad in LinkedIn's review shows as IN_REVIEW, and a rejected one as REJECTED with LinkedIn's reasons.

Each is JSON, signed with your webhook's secret in the omne-signature header. A delivery that fails is tried again five times, with the same omne-event-id.

Omne's API and MCP

Omne's API is not open yet. Where it is switched on, each tool above has its own address, with a key from Settings → MCP & API:

| What | Address | |---|---| | Ad accounts | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/accounts | | The whole account | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/tree | | Campaign groups | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/campaign-groups | | Campaigns | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/campaigns | | Ads | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/ads | | Results | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/results | | Breakdowns | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/breakdown | | Targeting | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/targeting-search | | Audience size | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/reach | | Bid and budget bounds | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/bid-pricing | | Forecast | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/forecast | | Lead forms | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/lead-forms | | Leads | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/leads | | Matched Audiences | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/audiences | | Insight Tag | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/insight-tag | | Conversion rules | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/conversion-rules | | Ad Library | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/library | | Health | GET /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/health | | Pause, resume or archive | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/set-status | | Change a budget | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/set-budget | | Rename | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/rename | | Copy a campaign | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/duplicate | | Make a campaign group | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/create-campaign-group | | Make a campaign | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/create-campaign | | Make an ad | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/create-ad | | Make a lead form | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/create-lead-form | | Archive a lead form | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/archive-lead-form | | Leads onto your list now | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/add-leads-to-list | | Make an audience | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/create-audience | | Companies in an audience | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/audience-companies | | People in an audience | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/audience-people | | Make a conversion rule | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/create-conversion-rule | | Change a conversion rule | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/update-conversion-rule | | Campaigns for a rule | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/link-campaigns | | Send conversions | POST /v1/ads/linkedin-ads/send-conversions |

Reading works with any key. Changes need a key made to write, and are POST with their arguments as JSON. The same tools are in Omne's MCP server, named linkedin_ads_*.

Disconnect

Disconnect LinkedIn Ads in Integrations. Omne ends its access at LinkedIn too. You can also remove Omne Ads at linkedin.com, under Settings → Data privacy → Permitted services.
