Save emails to the Library

Get a private address, forward newsletters or any email to it, and they land in the Library looking as they were sent, with their text searchable.

Email capture gives you a private address. Anything you forward to it becomes a doc in your Library with the sender kept, the words searchable and the original design available to look at. It is built and has been tried with a sample email; forwarding from a mail service on a real inbox is still being checked.

Get your address

Open Settings, then Workspace, then Sync sources, find Email capture and press Get my address. Copy it with Copy. Each person has their own address in each workspace.

Send emails to it

  • For one email, forward it to the address. To, Cc and Bcc all work
  • For every newsletter in Gmail, add the address under Settings, Forwarding and POP/IMAP, then make a filter for the sender that forwards to it. Gmail's own confirmation email arrives in your Library with its code
  • In Apple Mail, add a rule that matches the sender and forwards to the address

What you get

Omne checks for new mail every minute. Each email becomes a doc titled with its subject. If you forwarded it, Omne finds the original sender rather than you. Tracking pixels and scripts are removed before the design is kept, and links open in a new tab.

Keep the address private Anyone who knows the address can add to your Library. Attachments aren't saved. Remove deletes the address, and a new one is a different address.
