Open in app for short links
Open in app is planned to move people from an in-app browser, such as Instagram's, to the real app. It is not in Omne yet.
SoonThis part of Omne isn't open yet. This page says what's planned, and it can still change.
Open in app is a planned feature. When someone taps a short link inside an app such as Instagram or TikTok, that app shows the page in its own small browser, where the person isn't signed in to anything. Open in app is meant to move them to the real app, such as YouTube or Spotify, where they are signed in and can follow, buy or watch. It is not in Omne yet.
What is planned
- A switch in the Create link window that turns on when Omne recognises the address, with a fallback page for when the app doesn't open.
- A small page, shown only inside in-app browsers, with an Open in button and a Continue on the website button.
- Links that already exist would never change by themselves.
An honest limit
Nobody can force this to work. The app a person is inside decides what its browser may do, and it can change that in an update. Omne plans to keep testing it rather than call it finished.
What you can do today
Normal Safari and Chrome already follow a plain redirect to an app that claims the address. Today the Domains page lets you add your own Apple and Android app files for your own domain. See link domain settings.

There's a real person behind Omne, so ask anything.
