Write a broadcast
How to write and save a one-off email to your whole list or to some tags, and what happens when sending opens.
SoonThis part of Omne isn't open yet. This page says what's planned, and it can still change.
A broadcast is a single email sent once to your list: a launch, a sale, a new post. You can write and save broadcasts in Omne today as drafts. The Send and Schedule buttons show Coming soon, so a saved broadcast does not go out yet.
Write one
- In the sidebar, open Email, then Broadcasts.
- Click Send an email.
- Enter the Subject. This is the line people see in their inbox.
- Add a Preview line. It is shown after the subject in the inbox.
- Under Only to these tags, add tags to limit who receives it. Leave the field empty to address every subscriber.
- Write the message in the Email box. A plain note to one person tends to read best.
- Click Save draft.
Read the list
Each row shows the subject and preview line, who it goes To ("Every subscriber" or "Tagged" followed by your tags), how many people Opened it as a percentage, the Status and when it was last Updated. The opened figure shows a dash until an email has been sent.
Statuses
A broadcast is a Draft, Scheduled, Sending or Sent. Today every broadcast you make is a draft. Once an email is sent, it cannot be changed.
Edit or delete a draft
Click a row to open it. Change what you need and click Save, or click Delete and confirm to remove it. Deleting cannot be undone.
Who receives it, once sending opens
Only people whose status is Subscribed and who match the tags you chose. People who unsubscribed or bounced are meant to be left out. See Unsubscribes and bounces.
Plan
Broadcasts are planned for Creator and above. See Contacts and sends for how sends are counted.
