Posting times and posting streak
Two parts of Analytics show when your posts go out and how they did: a week-by-hour grid of posting times and a streak of consecutive days with a post.
Below the chart on the Analytics page are two cards that look at timing. Posting times shows which hours of the week your posts did best, and Posting streak counts the days in a row that you posted. Both follow the platform, account and range you chose at the top of the page. See Read your analytics for those controls.
Posting times
Posting times is a grid with the days Monday to Sunday and the hours 00 to 23, in your workspace's time zone. Each square is one hour of one weekday, summed over the whole range.
- A darker blue means the posts sent in that hour did better on average.
- An empty square means no post went out in that hour.
- Hover over a square to see its hour, how many posts were in it and their average.
- The best hour is written under the grid.
What a square measures follows the tile you selected. If the selected tile is a number that posts have, such as views or likes, the squares show the average of that number. If you chose Posts, they show how many posts went out. When the tile you chose is not a per-post number, Posting times uses views, then likes.
How to use it
Give an hour a fair test before you trust it. A square built from one post says little, so look for a time that shows up in several weeks, and put the next few posts there on purpose.
Posting streak
The streak card shows the number of days in a row with a post, up to today. While today has no post yet, the streak counts up to yesterday, so it does not drop to zero in the morning. Under it are two facts:
- Longest, the longest run in the range.
- Days with a post, shown as a count out of the days in the range.
A small calendar of the last 13 weeks shades each day by how many posts went out. Hover over a day for the date and its count.
Why the numbers can differ from your platform
Days and hours follow the time zone of the workspace, not the time zone of the platform's own dashboard. A post sent late at night can fall on a different day here.
